Texture Photoshoot: Journal Entry

Texture is the type of surface that any physical object has. Be it soft, sharp, rugged or smooth, there are endless types of textures in the world. In a photographic aspect that means you have endless types of textures to take photos of. It is used in photography to show patterns and even extract emotion. This project was very easy as textures are literally everywhere. This technique makes me a better photographer because I now know how to use texture as a compositional skill.

Color Photography Journal Entry

In photography, color is one of the most important aspects of the photo as it can sway the moods of the viewer. Color can also be mixed with other complimentary colors during a shoot if you can find naturally arranged mixes. The hardest part about this project was finding an indoor source of color. It seems easy but I didn't find myself around indoor color as much as I did outdoor. This improves my photo taking techniques because I can now implement color along with other compositional techniques.

Light Photo-shoot Journal Entry

When taking photos, the lighting is one the most important aspects of shooting. Obviously without light you can't have a photo, but in this case we are talking abstractly. Taking photos by working the shot and finding unique designs cast by light can create moods and feelings inside of the viewer. The dark and light are powerful tools of shooting with lighting. During this photo shoot my favorite moments were talking all of the indoor light photos. I sat stressed out thinking "how the hell a, I going to find cool light designs in my home." So while sitting on the couch I saw sun coming through the blinds and there was my first shot. From there everything was smooth sailing. My favorite part of doing this project was the post production work.

Composition Photoshoot IV: Symmetry Journal Entry

Symmetry is not a shape, but it is one of the most important aspects of photographic composition. Every time you see a photo that looks unorganized and you cant't look at it satisfied is caused by bad symmetry. Symmetry is used in photography to supply a photos viewer with a relaxed observation of the photograph so their eyes are wandering everywhere crazily. I thought that this project would be difficult, but considering I completed it in about 30 minutes, it was very easy. Symmetry makes my photos better by not allowing them to seem messy and confusing anymore.
